Firefighters Free Two From Overturned Vehicle on EB 10

The crash was reported at 5:13 p.m. on the eastbound freeway at 8th Street, said Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire-Riverside County.

Firefighters freed two people trapped in a single-vehicle crash Friday on Interstate 10 in Banning, and a rescue helicopter crew flew one of them to a hospital, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said.

The crash was reported at 5:13 p.m. on the eastbound freeway at 8th Street, said Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire-Riverside County.

The helicopter crew landed near South 8th Street and West Lincoln Street, about a block south of the freeway, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.

Both victims were extricated by 5:38 p.m., Hendrickson said. One victim was airlifted and the other was taken to a hospital via ambulance.

The CHP was investigating the crash.
