Firefighter Hospitalized in San Jacinto Blaze

The firefighter received "minor to moderate" injuries in the fire that completely destroyed an abandoned house.

Fire investigators were looking into the cause of a fire in the San Jacinto area on Wednesday that sent one firefighter to the hospital.

The fire broke out Tuesday night around 8:45 p.m. at a house on State Street, just north of Esplanade, for unknown causes, according to Melody Hendrickson of the Riverside County Fire Department.

"The structure was completely destroyed, however due to quick firefighter action, a nearby structure was saved with minimal fire damage and exposure to the exterior," Hendrickson said.
