Update 1:05 p.m. As firefighters dealt with a brush fire Monday afternoon in Idyllwild, Cal Fire requested traffic control near Hemstreet Place and Strong Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Update 12:55 p.m. A brush fire in the Fern Valley area of Idyllwild was "under control" as of 12:50 p.m., a spokeswoman for Idyllwild Fire Protection District said.
No property damage had been reported, she said.
Posted 12:40 p.m. A fire was reported Monday in the Fern Valley area of Idyllwild, a spokeswoman for Idyllwild Fire Protection District said.
The fire was reported shortly after noon Aug. 5 and Idyllwild and Cal Fire crews responded.
"All our guys are up there," the Idyllwild Fire Protection District spokeswoman said in a phone interview just after 12:30 p.m.
The Fern Valley area includes homes in dense forest below Tahquitz Rock, Suicide Rock and Humber Park.
