Fire Damages Unoccupied Family Home on Michigan Avenue in Beaumont

The fire was reported at 3:18 a.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Michigan Avenue, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said.

Fire damaged an unoccupied, single-story home early Tuesday in Beaumont, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was reported at 3:18 a.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Michigan Avenue, Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

Five engine crews with 17 firefighters responded.

"First arriving engine company reported black smoke coming from the eaves of the house," Hendrickson said.

"The fire was contained at approximately 3:53 am to the hallway and a rear bedroom of the single story, single family dwelling."

There were no occupants inside the home and no injuries reported, Hendrickson said.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
