Fire Damages Home in Sun Lakes

Fire damaged a home Monday afternoon in the Sun Lakes community in Banning, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was reported at 2:37 p.m. Nov. 4 in the 1100 block of Bay Hill Road,  Mark Annas of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

"First arriving engine reported heavy smoke showing from a single-story, single family dwelling," Annas said. "Incident Commander reported a fire in the attic of an 1800 square foot single-story, single family dwelling."

A total of six engine companies responded. The fire was declared contained at 3:18 p.m., Annas said.

"The Incident Commander requested the American Red Cross to assist with one adult male displaced by the fire," Annas said. "No injuries were reported."

Firefighters were expected to remain on-scene about one hour for overhaul, Annas said. Southern California Edison and the Southern California Gas Company also responded.

Cal Fire released no information about the cause of the fire.
