A Norco man was behind bars in Banning Thursday, suspected in a recent violent attack of a local woman inside her home.

Interim Banning Police Chief Alex Diaz says the attack happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, at a residence inside a housing complex at 3800 W. Ramsey Street.

Officers received a report of "...a male subject who entered the home, physically assaulted his former girlfriend and threatened to kill her and another male with a handgun," he said.

23-year-old Allen Helberg is accused of entering the current home of his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend and then threatening to kill her, Diaz said.

"The suspect pointed a handgun at her and threatened to shoot her and began hitting and slapping her," he said.  "The 72-year-old male victim, who is the home owner, came out of his bedroom to check on the disturbance when the suspect pointed the gun at him and threatened to shoot him."

Helberg then apparently left the location in a vehicle before police could arrest him.

However, around 11:30 p.m. that same night, the man was pulled over by a Banning police officer, according to Diaz.

"A stolen loaded handgun was located inside the vehicle along with a knife and illegal drugs," Diaz said.  "Suspect Helberg was later booked into the Larry Smith correctional facility in Banning on several felony charges that included assault with a deadly weapon and making threats to kill."

The woman and man who were threatened did not seek medical attention, according to Diaz.

Jail records indicate that Helberg's bail was set at $500,000 and he is due in court on Friday.

A 12 gauge shotgun works wonders when subhuman zombies attempt to create drama. Be sure to drag the corpse quickly into the house and put a kitchen knife into its hand. Tell the police nothing other than "I was so scared".....

Why would you post that JD tippit? Did you not read this? Why would you suggest killing someone and planting evidence, in a story about a man with a gun who brandished his weapon at the victims house and threatened to kill multiple people? He's lucky he wasn't shot, no doubt. But it's a case of clear cut self defense if he was
