Elderly Man Shoots Wife, Then Self in Cherry Valley

The couple both died from their gunshot wounds, the Riverside County coroner's office reported Friday.

An elderly couple died this week in Cherry Valley when the woman's husband first shot her, then turned the gun on himself, coroner's officials reported Friday.

According to coroner's reports, Wallace Conrad, 83, shot his wife Carma, 71, on Wednesday at their home in Cherry Valley.

He then suffered from a "self-inflicted gunshot wound after shooting his wife," the coroner's report states.

Wallace Conrad died at the home, and was found around 3 p.m. Wednesday.  His wife, though, was still alive when authorities got to the house, and she was taken to the Riverside County Regional Medical Center where she died the next night, reports indicate.

Sheriff's officials did not immediately release further information surrounding the circumstances of the incident.
