A suspect with a gun went into a home Tuesday morning in San Jacinto, demanded cash and hit a man in the head with the weapon, and deputies were looking for the suspect, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to a reported robbery at 8:34 a.m. Dec. 3 to the 1700 block of Rogers Way, San Jacinto police Sgt. David Haar said in a statement.

The investigation revealed a black male adult entered the residence, brandished a firearm and demanded money," Haar said. "A Hispanic male in his 50s was struck in the head with the firearm. After striking the victim, the suspect left the residence and fled on foot in an unknown direction."

The injured man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, treated and released, Haar said.

No suspects had been identified or arrested as of Tuesday afternoon.

"The suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5'-06" to 5'-09" tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a blue button shirt and blue jeans," Haar said.

Anyone with more info was urged to call the San Jacinto Police Department, (951) 654-2702.
