Deputies Seek More Info on Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Mesa View Middle School in Calimesa

Two people were hospitalized Wednesday with minor injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle crash near Mesa View Middle School in Calimesa, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded at 7:24 a.m. Oct. 30 to a reported traffic collision on the 800 block of Mustang Way, Sgt. Vic Trevino of the sheriff's Cabazon Station said in a statement.

"Upon arrival, deputies located a Dodge Magnum which had collided with four other vehicles traveling in the opposite direction on Mustang Way," Trevino said.

"The preliminary investigation indicates the Magnum was traveling eastbound on Mustang Way. The driver of the vehicle appeared to have crossed over the solid double yellow lines onto the westbound lane of Mustang Way and sideswiped 3 vehicles prior to colliding head on with a 4th vehicle traveling west on Mustang Way."

The driver of the Magnum, a 39-year-old woman from Yucaipa, and the other driver involved in the head-on collision,  were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, Trevino said.

Deputies investigating the incident were seeking more info. Anyone who witnessed what happened was urged to call Deputy Rios at the Cabazon Station at (951) 922-7100, the Riverside County Sheriff's Dispatch Center, 1-800-950-2444, or email cabazonstation@riversidesheriff.org.
