Crews Douse Brush Fire East of Moreno Valley

The wildland fire near Alessandro Boulevard and Gilman Springs Road was held to four acres, as of the last update from CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire.

Firefighters were dousing a four-acre brush fire that broke out east of Moreno Valley today, a spokesman said.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9:37 a.m. to a spot near Alessandro Boulevard and Gilman Springs Road, Riverside County Fire Department spokesman Mark Annas said.

The firefighting effort included 50 firefighters, one helicopter and two air tankers, according to Annas.

CAL FIRE/San Bernardino Fire provided its assistance.

As of the latest CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire update at 10:45 a.m, the fire was being held to four acres and crews were expected to remain on scene for two hours.

A cause behind the blaze was undetermined and no injuries were reported.
