Crash on I-10 in Beaumont Injures Seven, Snarls Traffic for Miles

Seven people were injured late Thursday, two seriously, when a passenger vehicle and a semi-trailer collided on Interstate 10 in Beaumont.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. on the westbound side of the interstate near Highland Springs Avenue, according to Jennifer Fuhrman of the Riverside County Fire Department.

A half-dozen of the victims were from the passenger vehicle and one from the big rig, she said.

Of the seven people transported for hospital treatment, five suffered only minor injuries, she said, and two patients were in serious condition.

Traffic was backed up for several miles into Banning, according to motorists.
