Congressman Joins Coalition to Reduce Drunk Driving Incidents

The congressman for the Coachella Valley joined a coalition Wednesday of community members, law enforcement, and local leaders seeking to crack down on drunk driving incidents across the region, according to his staff.

Rep. Raul Ruiz, D-Palm Desert, appeared at Coachella City Hall on Nov. 6 to highlight efforts to reduce impaired driving in the Coachella Valley and to help draw attention to drunken driving and its costs.

Ruiz' 36th Congressional District includes Aguanga, Anza, Banning, Beaumont, Bermuda Dunes, Blythe, Cabazon, Calimesa, Cathedral City, Cherry Valley, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Eagle Mountain, Gilman Hot Springs, Hemet, Idyllwild, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Mecca, Mountain Center, North Palm Springs, North Shore, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, San Jacinto, Thermal, Thousand Palms and Whitewater.
