CHP Investigates Stolen Vehicle Crash, Blood Tech Requested, Driver Arrested

A two-vehicle crash was reported at 1:38 p.m. on westbound Interstate 10 west of Haugen-Lehmann Way, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the vehicles was reported stolen, a CHP dispatcher said.

Two vehicles crashed Monday afternoon on westbound Interstate 10 east of Cabazon, one of the vehicles was reported stolen, a blood technician was summoned, and one of the drivers was arrested, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 1:38 p.m. on the westbound 10 west of Haugen-Lehmann Way, with one of the vehicles overturned, a CHP dispatcher said in a phone interview.

Cal Fire and at least one sheriff's deputy responded to assist Highway Patrol personnel at the scene.

A suspect with an LA Dodgers tattoo was identified, and one vehicle sustained "total rollover damage," according to the CHP.

Investigators checked with Irwindale police and requested a blood technician just after 4 p.m. because the suspect was possibly impaired. They were still waiting for the blood tech at 4:40 p.m., according to the CHP.

One driver was arrested because one of the vehicles was reported stolen, the CHP dispatcher said just before 5 p.m.

A CHP sergeant at the San Gorgonio Pass headquarters said he could not provide any further details.
