Riverside County fire officials say the injured hiker suffered moderate injuries in his fall.
"After the rescue was completed by Copter 301, the patient will be transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital," Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department said.
The man was rescued at around 11:30 a.m., she added.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire officials are working Wednesday to rescue an injured hiker who has fallen dozens of feet down an embankment near an Idyllwild-Pine Cove trail, officials say.
Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department says the unidentified male hiker fell approximately 30 feet over an embankement on the Shadow Oak Trail near View Rock in the Pine Cove area.
It happened just before 9 a.m., and as of 10 a.m., a Cal Fire helicopter-- Copter 301-- was on its way to "perform a short haul rescue of the injured hiker," according to Hagemann.
Appoximately 15 firefighters from two engines are on scene, according to fire records.
The trail is located off CA-243 and the San Jacinto Ridge Truck Trail.
