Cabazon Crews Perform Rescue of Girl Who Falls Into Ravine

The 11-year-old girl was transported to a hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries, fire officials said.

An 11-year-old girl suffered moderate injuries after she fell 10 feet into a ravine in the One Horse Ridge area of Cabazon, a Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman said Sunday.

The fall was reported at 7:49 p.m. on Saturday south of the 10 Freeway and Haugen Lehman Way, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.

Ten Riverside County firefighters from three engine companies responded, Hendrickson said.

"The patient was lifted out of the ravine by way of a stokes basket," she said.  "A helicopter-involved hoist rescue was not needed."

The 11-year-old girl was transported to a hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries, Hendrickson said.
