Police say an 18-year-old robbed someone Wednesday night-- right in front of the Banning police station.

An 18-year-old was behind bars Thursday, accused of robbing someone in front of the Banning police station a night earlier.

Police and jail records indicate Davion Owens was arrested within 15 minutes after the unidentified victim let them know of the alleged crime.

"While conducting an area check, the suspect was located at S. San Gorgonio Avenue and Lincoln Street with the victim’s property. The suspect was taken into custody

The teen allegedly took the victim's iPod, Banning police Sgt. Alex Diaz told Banning-Beaumont Patch.

No weapon was used in the incident.

Judging by the looks of his face, I'd say poor judgment has been a problem for Davion...just sayin'

Sure don't miss living in Banning.....or CA for that matter. Worked for the City for 19 years and saw it go from bad to worse.

Sounds and looks like he's crying out for attn, and even if it's negative, which is so much easier to receive than possitive these days... Sad very sad.. Pray for him and all the youth in the pass area.
roger dodger July 06, 2012 at 08:49 PM
Yea, Pray that he goes to jail where he belongs.
calimesajim July 06, 2012 at 10:16 PM
Let him be "crying out for attn." in jail. Maybe he'll get some.
Damchi July 07, 2012 at 01:20 AM
Two weekends max picking up trash. In another country he would get from min 6 months jail up to max of having his hand chopped off.
keeshwhite July 07, 2012 at 01:24 AM
seems to be some drug addiction problem that would make him do such thing especially in front of the police station.
steve l July 07, 2012 at 03:24 AM
its gotten better since you left. im sure its just a coincidence.
Patrick Gordon July 07, 2012 at 07:15 PM
yea drugs will do it for sure could be a lot of things, jail doesn't do it by proof of our prisons. everybody makes mistakes and all are guilty of sin, seems we have a lot of rock throwers.who can't. come up with a better solution then corporal punishment... Go figure no wonder our youth are so messed up. That boy is somebodys child, Im sure you qould say the same thing if it qas your own...Ill keep you all in prayer for sure.
roger dodger July 07, 2012 at 09:54 PM
nobody said it was drugs that made him do it. this is a teen that is doing adult crimes, and should be punished for his actions. before it turns to more serious crime. he is somebody's child, but what about the REAL VICTIM.
Patrick Gordon July 08, 2012 at 12:50 AM
There are 2 victims here ...Stealing is an adult crime?.I guess your right the government does it, corporatation do it even you if you cheat on your taxes. Ever told a lie?Took something that didn't belong to.you? I bet not. So what should his punishment be? If.everyone that was stealing, lieing, cheating on their wives or husbands.Doing drugs, drinking and driving. We would need bigger jails,oh that's right we have more of them then hospitals now... My bad.Again what would you have his punishment be, and if he was your child what would you want for him?
Patrick Gordon July 08, 2012 at 01:03 AM
Anyway he needs some positive direction in his life for sure and maybe some good role models, some tough love, and some guidance. Jail is not the answer to everything. That's for sure. God Bless and thanx for your feed back.
roger dodger July 08, 2012 at 01:15 AM
stick with the story, only one person was robbed. so how is there two victims? robbery is an adult crime. it doesnt say brazen stealing. and if the courts give him probation or jail time, then thats what he deserves.
Patrick Gordon July 08, 2012 at 08:37 AM
Yep that's what I said, that's the answer for everything... put him in the system get him a jacket and call it good,Throw away society, throw away kids.. Good answer...Where's the Love brother?
Patrick Gordon July 08, 2012 at 02:38 PM
I realize he did something wrong and took something from someone that didn't belong to him, he is a product of his environment, and our government. Law you can't spank your children, No prayer/ God in schools or in Public Parks etc, Broken families Deadbeat Dads,Or even just both parents having to work to make ends meet, Whose raising our kids? Look at the trash they get bombarded with everyday on TV,and in their Video Games .etcWe have creates this mess.So that makes him a victim as well.He inherited this mess along with all the other trash we are leaving our children.
Mr C July 08, 2012 at 03:26 PM
Don't make excuses for him Patrick, it's that kind of enabling mentality that created the situations you refer to. His life, like everyone else, is full of choices and he has made bad ones from strong arm robbery to what he has done to his face. Because of his choices he will have to suffer the consequences and if at some point he decides to make better choices his life will change, but you cannot make that happen by making excuse for him.
Sadity Me! July 09, 2012 at 03:45 AM

Mariana Zuelsdorf July 09, 2012 at 05:46 PM
Another case of 'you have something I want so I'm taking it!'
ATC July 09, 2012 at 10:16 PM
Patrick, I also am a product of the same environment and the same government, yet curiously I'm not robbing people. Wow, that's strange, isn't it? Quit making excuses for him and hold him accountable for his actions. It's attitudes like your s that create criminals like him.
Aaron Alexander July 10, 2012 at 12:48 AM
