Big Rig, Sedan Crash on I-10 at Beaumont Ave; DUI Suspected

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the Monday morning crash as a DUI.

A driver is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs in a morning crash involving a big rig and a sedan in Beaumont, CHP officials tell Patch.

The crash happened at 8:44 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway, just west of Beaumont Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

According to those logs, the crash involved a semi-truck and a mid-sized sedan.

Officer Darren Meyer confirms to Patch that a blood technician was sent to the scene to test one of the drivers for DUI, and the person behind the wheel of the sedan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
