Big Rig Crash in Badlands Leads to Sig Alert, Traffic Backup

Traffic slowed Monday afternoon on the eastbound 60, after a big rig crash temporarily had all lanes blocked in the Badlands, CHP reports.

All lanes were reported reopened at 1:40 p.m., a California Highway Patrol dispatcher tells Patch.  However, traffic may still have been slow-moving.

The crash happened after a possible engine failure in the truck around 11:53 a.m., according to CHP logs.  Both lanes were temporarily blocked as emergency crews and tow trucks helped clear the area.

It wasn't until 1:30 p.m. that CHP reported a tow truck cleared the big rig.
