UPDATE: Beaumont Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained in Cathedral City Collision

Meadow Sanchez, 37, was fatally injured Tuesday on eastbound Interstate 10 at Date Palm Drive and overturned, according to a coroner's investigator and the California Highway Patrol.

Update 8:10 p.m. A Beaumont woman died from injuries she sustained in a car-versus-crane collision on Interstate 10 in Cathedral City, according to a coroner's investigator and the California Highway Patrol.

Meadow Sanchez, 37, was driving a 2005 Toyota Prius east on the 10 shortly after 6:25 a.m. Tuesday when her car collided with a crane moving from the center median to the eastbound fast lane at Date Palm Drive, said CHP Officer Joe Zagorski.

The crane, operated by a 52-year-old Cathedral City man, entered the eastbound fast lane in front of the Prius, which collided with the rear of the crane, Zagorski said. The Prius overturned and came to rest blocking three eastbound lanes.
