Beaumont Police, Pass CHP Amping Up DUI Enforcement for Cinco de Mayo

Both the Beaumont Police Department and San Gorgonio Pass CHP say they'll have extra units on the streets for Cinco de Mayo.

If you’re thinking of heading out to party this Cinco de Mayo weekend—think again before drinking and driving.

Beaumont police say they will be conducting DUI saturation patrols for the notorious drinking day.  That means extra enforcement will be out on the streets, looking for drunk drivers.

The San Gorgonio Pass CHP sector will also be extra vigilant of drunk drivers, and will have additional patrol units out beginning at 8 p.m. Friday as part of their "maximum enforcement period," according to CHP Spokesman Darren Meyer.
