Beaumont Murder Victim Identified, How to Help

A woman who was killed last week in Beaumont has been identified by her son, who also shared some photos of his late mother.

A 44-year-old woman who was murdered last week in Beaumont will be "dearly" missed, her son tells Banning-Beaumont Patch.

Jonathon Armstrong, 24, was Elizabeth "Coti" Asselin's eldest son, and he says it was his mother who lost her life in a Beaumont home in the 200 block of West Seventh Street, near California.

Asselin  It was that night police discovered Asselin's lifeless body, and it's still not clear how long she had been dead by the time police discovered her.

Armstong tells Patch his mom, who lived in Beaumont for the last two years, is survived by he and his two brothers, James, 23, and Joshua, 22.  All of them live in North Carolina.

She also had two grandchildren: a 4-year-old granddaughter named Lacey, and another unborn grandchild on the way.

Memorial services are still being worked out at this time, but Armstrong says they are planning to have something next week.  We will update this article when they've set those plans. 

No arrests have been made in the death, according to Beaumont police, who are looking to question her roommate Vanessa Kathleen Fierro, 30, as a "person of interest."
