Banning Police Searching for Shooter
One person was shot in the abdomen after six rounds were fired off during a confrontation.
A person was shot on Wednesday night in Banning and police are trying to track down the suspected shooter.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired just before midnight to find a victim with a gunshot wound in the lower abdomen area, according to the Banning Police Department. Detectives later discovered that a confrontation involving a large group of people took place outside 1520 W. Williams St., ending when an unknown suspect fired six rounds, striking the victim once. The shooter fled the scene, but police do not know in which direction.
Evidence gathered at the scene indicates the incident was gang related, according police.

The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.
