Bank Robberies in Riverside, La Quinta, OC: FBI Seeks 'Button-Down Bandit'

A suspect wanted in connection with recent bank robberies in Riverside, La Quinta, Seal Beach and Yorba Linda has been dubbed the "Button-down Bandit" and the FBI is seeking info from the public to catch him.

The Button-down Bandit is suspected of the following robberies:

- Dec. 2 2013: U.S. Bank Riverside

- Nov. 27 2013: U.S. Bank La Quinta

- Nov. 25 2013: Bank of America Seal Beach

- Nov. 15 2013: Wells Fargo Yorba Linda

According to the FBI, the Button-down Bandit entered each bank and presented a demand note to the victim teller.

The suspect has made statements including, "Don't make me do it" or "You have thirty seconds." The suspect has passed a note during the robberies demanding denominations of $50s and $100s, suggesting that someone would otherwise get hurt.

The Button-down Bandit is described as a white male with white hair, slender, between 150 to 160 pounds, and 45 to 50 years old. 

The FBI and law enforcement in Riverside County and Orange County are conducting a joint investigation, FBI officials in Los Angeles said.

The FBI has released bank surveillance photographs of the "Button-down Bandit" from each alleged robbery. Anyone with more info about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect was urged to contact their nearest FBI office or dial 911.
