Authorities Try to Identify Female's Remains Found North of Beaumont

A body was discovered in a shallow grave on July 15, between Beaumont and Oak Glen, about a mile north of the Riverside County line, San Bernardino County coroner's officials said.

A female's remains were discovered Friday in a shallow grave in a field between Beaumont and Oak Glen, north of the Riverside County line, and San Bernardino County authorities had not identified her as of Tuesday afternoon.

An autopsy was scheduled to be conducted Wednesday, a coroner's investigator told Banning-Beaumont Patch.

The body discovery was reported to San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies just after 11 a.m. July 15, according to homicide investigators.

A Riverside County sheriff's deputy notified San Bernardino County authorities of a dead body near Mile High Ranch Road, north of Noble Creek, investigators said.

South of the county line, Mile High Ranch Road is known as Avenida Miravilla, which starts near Bogart County Park.

The body was in a shallow grave and homicide investigators initially could not determine age, gender or race of the deceased.

Coroner's investigators said the shallow grave was west of Mile High Ranch Road and about one mile north of the Riverside County line.

As of Tuesday, coroner's investigators had determined the remains were those of a white female. Her age and identity could not be determined.

The incident was being handled in part by San Bernardino County sheriff's Specialized Investigations.
