A man stopped by cops in San Jacinto for alleged public intoxication turned out to be a robber being sought by detectives, sheriff's officials said.
Victor Monroe, 32, of San Jacinto, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of a robbery that occurred Feb. 16.
Riverside County sheriff's deputies about 8:15 p.m. Feb. 24 took Monroe into custody in the 4500 block of East Main Street, Sgt. Rose McKinney said.
During the investigation, deputies recognized Monroe as the suspect in a Feb. 16 robbery that occurred in the 300 block of Fifth Street.
Monroe allegedly took property from the victim by force.
Bail and court information for Monroe was not available Sunday night.
