A man who allegedly threatened to blow up a Christian church during a youth music concert in Hemet was out on $3,500 bail Sunday, pending a March court date, authorities said.
A tipster called police dispatch to warn officers that someone was threatening to blow up the Youth For Christ Church and kill children at 158 S. Buena Vista St., according to police.
There was a hip-hop concert taking place at the time, police said.
The caller told police that the suspect was still at the scene.
Jacob James Fetchko, 18, was taken into custody about 6:15 p.m. and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and making a false bomb threat.
He was ordered to appear in court March 26.
Buildings in the area were evacuated, as well as the church, police said.
Bomb unit officers found no exposive devices in the church or surrounding buildings.
