A former Chaffey Joint Union High School District teacher has been arrested on suspicion that he molested two young girls while they visited his Rancho Cucamonga home several years ago.

Paul Chapman, 81, was arrested on Jan. 10 and remained in custody at West Valley Detention Center as of Tuesday, according to Sheriff’s records. He could face charges of Lewd Acts with a Child, Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and Oral Copulation of a Child, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff investigators are protecting the victims and few details were immediately released. They were described only as members of the same family. During interviews the youngsters told investigators that Chapman sexually abused them several times, officials said.

The girls were reportedly between the ages of 7 and 10 at the time of the alleged incidents and investigators said they believe the abuse occurred at various times between 2007 and 2011.

Chapman was a teacher for the Chaffey Joint Union High School District between 1960 and 1997, sheriff’s officials said.

Investigators ask anyone with information or evidence of any sexual abuse involving Chapman to call Detective Gary Esmond at the Rancho Cucamonga Police Station, (909) 477-2800.

A few years ago, this perp was in his late seventies, and he still is crazed horny enough to do this? Hello- viagra lobby?? All those against birth control coverage, do you know you're paying for viagra for guys like this? thats ok, though, right?

@Annie - Respectfully, sex crimes like incest, rape, and molestation, are rarely about sexual gratification. Viagra is used to allow men to achieve sexual gratification...So I don't believe your point regarding Viagra and this child molester are relevant. I seriously doubt this old timer popped an ED pill before he molested these victims...

Predators that molest do it for control...it's not "horny-ness or feelin' sexy"...What molesters and rapist do is deviant and horrible and not about getting or sustaining an erection....And women can be both molesters and rapists, as well......Annie, I DO understand and agree: lobbying for insurance to cover Viagra for men while not advocating coverage for birth control for women is LAME, however it just doesn't fit in this instance. Rape doesn't require a penis.

People should never leave kids, even with some relatives. There a lot of sick people out there, and you don't really know who the "Shiawt deviant" is. I remember, when I was a little girl, my mother always adviced me not to ever sit in anybodys lap, including friends and some of the male family members. I always follow her advice. I never had any problems, but I was also very aware of any strangers, and even of the teachers in school. Kids, have to know, that many perverts male or female are lurking in any place.

And some of them get positions working with children. SCREEN with extreme prejudice and care anyone that works with children in ANY capacity. SCREEN THEM. Teachers, coaches, priests, councilors, therapists, police are MOSTLY good people that care and are decent...there are some that aren't...Screen when you hire people, and pay the money for the fingerprint and identity clearance. It is worth every dime. "California law authorizes certain governmental and private organizations to conduct criminal offender record information background checks to help determine the suitability of a person applying for a license, employment, or a volunteer position working with children, the elderly, or the disabled. Law enforcement agencies, public and private schools, non-profit organizations, and in-home supportive care agencies are some of the organizations authorized to conduct these fingerprint-based background checks. During the 2012-13 fiscal year, the Department of Justice (DOJ) processed three million background check requests."
