18-year-old, Minor Arrested for Shoplifting at Beaumont Walmart

The elder initially got away, but police later caught up with him, officials said. He pleaded guilty to shoplifting charges Wednesday.

An 18-year-old Beaumont man whom police tracked down after he stole from the local Walmart pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of theft, jail and court records indicated.

The teen was arrested Feb. 3 along with an unidentified juvenile, according to jail records and Beaumont Police Spokeswoman Darci Mulvihill.

Mulvihill said Angel Anthony Gutierrez was arrested not at the store, but after a search by police officers.
