Brian Nestande Sells Out California Schools For Corporate Profits

Brian Nestande pays for his lavish lifestyle with taxpayer money and contributions from Big Oil and Insurance corporations.

Brian Nestande, who is running against Mark Orozco for the open 42nd Assembly District, knows where his priorities lie; and its not with California’s public education system.

Nestande, who claims to have an interest in restoring our public schools, buys his own children expensive private education. Nestande helps defray the high costs of his children’s tuition at Sacred Heart in Palm Desert by drawing on campaign contributions he receives from Big Oil and Insurance corporations (money he “earns” by voting in their favor at every opportunity.)

With his own children safely out of the public system, Nestande feels free to continue his leisurely pursuit of his failed education bill, rather than making the difficult choices necessary to fix California schools now. It's yet another example of how the former Chief of Staff for the crumbling Mary Bono Mack campaign is in this election for himself.

Earlier this year, Nestande admitted to the Desert Sun that his real target is a State Senate seat in 2014, stating that he was saving his money for a race that mattered. Despite a professed desire to “protect taxpayers,” Nestande always puts himself first. For example, his Assembly office budget for the last term was among the highest in the Legislature, prompting an inquiry by other members and an effort to reform the way in which the state covers the expenses of Assembly members.

Don’t be taken in by Nestande’s smooth talk about tax reform and fiscal responsibility. When he says he is “protecting taxpayers,” he privately finishes the thought by adding, “so they can continue to protect my children's private education.” Lets end the fat-cat cronyism in Sacramento and elect someone who understands how important California’s public education is to working families.

Vote Educator Mark Orozco for Assembly and lets send a message that we want citizenship, not partisanship.
