New Gateway Meeting Info

Please be advised that the Gateway Committee will be meeting Thursday April 10 at 6:30 pm at the Beaumont Unified School District Board Room, 350 Brookside Ave, Beaumont.
Supervisor Ashley's staff had originally indicated that the meeting would be at Noble Creek Park. Unbeknown to the Supervisor's staff, the facilities were unavailable. Rec and Park staff had changed the meeting to the Grange Hall. Co-chairman Dan Hughes and I met on Saturday morning to discuss the Gateway Committee meetings. It was at that meeting that the feasibility of using the Grange Hall was discussed. It was also discussed the BUSD board room would be a much better site. On Monday morning 4/7 a request was made to the BUSD for permission to use the board room. Today, Monday the executive committee of Dan Hughes, Nancy Carrol, and myself was formed. The executive board toured the Grange facilities and determined that the site was inadequate. At 4:00 pm on Monday 4/7 Beaumont Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Maureen Latham granted the Committee's request.
The Grange Hall had a capacity of 68 people in the large room. The committee and county staff will be close to 18, leaving a legal limit to just 50 public citizens. The executive committee believes that there will be more than 50 concerned citizens in attendance. The BUSD board room offers a much higher level of technological amenities for the audience, such a large presentation screen, better sound system, and better acoustics.

We wish to thank Dr. Latham and the staff of the BUSD for accommodating the committee's needs. We are thankful that our community has such a nice facility for public use.
