Best of BB Patch: Lunch Spots

This is going to be a new weekly feature on Banning-Beaumont Patch. The inaugural 'Best of BB Patch' is calling for your input.

You eat lunch every day, and you often eat out, so you have the requisite experience to answer this pressing question:

What is the best lunch spot in the San Gorgonio Pass?

This list of local eateries is by no means complete. If you know one that's not on the list, please share it in the comments section and it will be added.

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday March 2. The poll is not scientific. Selection of a winner will include additional factors, including positive comments in the section below.

BB Patch will make an effort to announce the winner before sundown Friday.

What about El Charro"s in Cherry Valley and Highland Springs Resort. Both beat the chains anyday.
Guy McCarthy (Editor) February 28, 2012 at 04:15 AM
El Charro's Authentic Mexican Food is added. Is Highland Springs Resort open every day for lunch?
Ronald Winsser February 28, 2012 at 07:21 AM
Crazy Coyote is not on the list and has the best tacos and burritos around. If you order Hot you get Habanero hot or Ghost chili hot. Not for sissies! 13033 Fields Rd Banning, CA 92220 (951) 849-2000 Hours: Mon-Sun 11 am - 7 pm

Ah Loo's is gone... It is now Georgeberto's and their food is very good. Owned by brothers who are very friendly and eager to please...

Thanks Kim - can you tell a little more about 'Beaumont Cafe'? A google search for "beaumont cafe 92223" turned up zero eateries.

And thank you Julia for the update. Will add more info on George Berto's soon.

A great lunch opportunity exists this Friday March 2nd as the Russo's celebrate their 25th Anniversary in business in Banning. From 11:00 am to 4:00 pm Johnny & Jane Russo will roll back prices to 1987. Great food, great prices, how can you go wrong?

Why isn't Subway on the list? 2 locations.
Gregory Stewart February 29, 2012 at 07:44 PM
Years ago Russo's Italian food was very good but the quality has slipped over time. Maybe Johnny is tired of it all??? After visiting twice with my family and recieving off tasting pizza with crust burned black on the bottom twice and rancid tasting pasta the last time, all served by rude waitresses, I quit going there. Three strikes and they are out! The new Georgebierto's mexican restaurant is good and Love That Chicken at Popeye's"!

I went to Russos when Jerome Robinson was entertaining last month. I had a nice visit. the atmosphere was quite pleasant and our waitress was very nice . The owner made sure to ask us about our visit. we had a pizza first time there. the place reminds me of a local pizza hangout.

Paddy O'Reilly's Grill & Pub. It recently got a new kitchen staff and menu. The burgers are great!
Guy McCarthy (Editor) March 01, 2012 at 08:32 PM
Thank you Gary. There are now three Subway locations listed - but still missing the new one that moved east on Ramsey a few months ago.
Guy McCarthy (Editor) March 01, 2012 at 10:11 PM
Thanks - Paddy O'Reilly's is now on the list.

What about Patsy's Country Kitchen in Banning near Albertson's?
Elissa Lerma March 02, 2012 at 05:54 AM
Just tried this place and the tortillas were really good!
Elissa Lerma March 02, 2012 at 05:56 AM
I have always wondered about this place but I thought they only served breakfast!

Russos is a good alternative for Italian -based Food. But my favorite lunch place is By the Way espresso on 6th street in Beaumont
Roger and Ellen Ohms March 02, 2012 at 04:14 PM
Patsy's Country Kitchen serves breakfast and lunch. I believe they close at 3pm.
Elissa Lerma March 02, 2012 at 04:46 PM
Thanks! Good to know!
Karri Jones March 06, 2012 at 02:44 AM
Patsy's country kitchen has the best burgers in town. Home made, fresh ground beef no frozen stuff. Everybody always comes back for more. Try the rancho burger thats my favorite.

Dont forget to try out "Frijoles" restaurant--BEST fish tacos around! I love everything I've tried on their menu. It's on 6th Street in Beaumont, near City Hall (in that plaza next to City Hall).
Tina Kummerle April 11, 2012 at 07:30 PM
Hi Guy, Highland Springs Resort or The Grand Oak Steakhouse and Bar is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm for lunch. The prices are reasonable and the menu includes a lot of organic items.
