Officials were investigating Friday the cause of a deadly crash on Gilman Springs Road, just south of State Route 60, in Moreno Valley.
The crash was reported around 6:30 p.m. Thursday when a car rolled "several times" approximately 50 feet down an embankment for unknown reasons, according to the coroner's office and fire reports.
"The solo occupant of the vehicle succumbed to fatal injuries," said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The coroner's office reports the 59-year-old Moreno Valley man was wearing a seat-belt when he crashed, and he died about 10 minutes after it happened.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
