LLLeindecker & Associates - Mardi Gras ~ Fat Tuesday ~ Po'Boys

LLLeindecker & Associates -  Mardi Gras ~ Fat Tuesday ~ and Po' Boy

Oh yes Po'Boy the traditional submarine sandwich from Louisiana, and Mardi Gras.  Mardi Gras is here.  Or do you call it ~ Fat Tuesday.  Either way the celebration in many countries has begun - from Brazil to Sweden - from Italy to New Orleans, and Bourbon Street.  Many countries, many nationalities, celebrate this day before the 40 days of the Lenten Season of fasting.

The name Mardi Gras for New Orleans goes back to Iberville a Frenchman, who on an expedition for King Louis XVI was sent to claim territory for France, and on March 3, 1699 laid claim to said territory;  one area was Point du Mardi Gras the port 60 miles from where New Orleans is today.  The whole history of Louisiana is fascinating to me, and I merely give you a glimpse here today.

Mardi Gras ~ Fat Tuesday ~ yes, Ash Wednesday follows.  Christians will begin their Lenten season tomorrow so this is a reminder, that Easter is around the corner, as is Spring.  From what I understand the weather is to be beautiful this week, and I intend to go out there and enjoy it.  I am reposting my picture, so if you see me out and about, please stop and say ~ hello.  If there is something you would like discussed, mentioned on the blog, let me know.  Remember - relevant, and in the end positive ~ laura.
