Derek Jeter ~ Monday Opening Season

Boys of Summer ~ Yankees Opening Day ~ with Baltimore ~ and oh yes, Derek Jeters Final Season

Accolades for ~ Derek Jeter, are never ending, a few are named here, and these awards came in multiples.  Awards:  Golden Glove - Silver Slugger - Hank Aaron - Roberto Clemente - 28th Player to reach 3,000 hits; drafted out of High School. Debuted in 1995, and the following year became starting - Shortstop - for his team the New York Yankees, and he has been there for 19 Seasons, Player #2 - Yankees All Time.

Now to this writer, and baseball lover, who did work and live in New York for 14 years - Derek Jeter - exudes the positive image of New York. He never seemed to forget his Pequannock Township, New Jersey principles.  His charm is visible.  He never seem to let - ego - get the best of him.  A role model, most definitely.

Now as for the Yankees, we will survive, New Yorkers we are survivors.  Derek Jeter ~ he is a rare breed.  He will be missed by the Yankees, by this writer, but will surface again, perhaps not as a player ~ hopefully he will surface by continuing to give back. The Best of Wishes to you Derek Jeter ~ and Thank You for all you have given to us, and to The Boys of Summer ~ L.
