SCWXA Air Quality Alert Issued For Banning Pass Locations

The Southern California Weather Authority has issued an Air Quality Alert (AQA) effective now until the alert goes off the site due to the Mountain Fire.

The Mountain Fire is burning in the Riverside County Mountains, on the western slopes at this hour. Latest satellite images shows the smoke plume heading northward.

Tonight through tomorrow, models here at the Southern California Weather Authority show the plume moving from North-Northeast to a more North-Northwest position for a few hours, which should put Big Bear Lake to the Banning Pass directly under it should the fire continue burning.

Air Quality Alert (AQA) - An Air Quality Alert is issued when a fire's smoke is settling into an area where people with breathing problems could be in danger. If this alert is issued, make sure your loved ones are safe.
