Mark Cares about Our California Veterans and the Opportunities They Deserve

Earlier this week, veterans and their families, along with union members were invited to a town hall meeting in Calimesa held by 42nd Assembly District Candidate, Mark Orozco.  Several local VFW's attending including my own.  The meeting was aimed at informing veterans and the families of active duty soldiers who live in the Pass Area about health care, compensation, pension and other military benefits in California.

"We have found out that a lot of veterans in the Pass Area do not understand or know what they are entitled to," said Orozco. “I was moved, as our veterans shared their stories of hard homecomings, low wage jobs below military pay, and home foreclosures.”  At the town hall, Mark Orozco spoke of a better future, union apprenticeships opportunities, and middle class jobs he plans to bring into the Pass Area and into the region.  Orozco also took the opportunity to discuss the recent veteran bills signed by Governor Brown that will enhance, extend, or create opportunities that make getting an education, securing meaningful employment, and accessing benefits earned through military service easier for veterans and their families.

Orozco is planning to host several more Town Hall Meetings in the 42nd Assembly District with the goal of educating the region and constituents about veterans benefits, entrepreneurship, business planning, small business financing, and development.  "I encourage veterans and their family members from throughout the newly redrawn 42nd Assembly District to attend a future town hall,” said Orozco.  “If we support America's returning veterans, we will also secure America's global leadership. America's veterans have answered duty's call and served our nation; when they return home from tours of duty, it's our obligation to serve them. They deserve the best from us, they have earned not only our gratitude, but we also owe them our help.”
