Beaumont schools need change NOW!

Vote for change this november!

Hello friends,

As we all know by now, our country is in the greatest economic downturn since the great depression. Large corporations have folded, cities have filed for bankruptcy, and leaders have failed and bitterly disappointed us. Our school system has taken a beating as well, larger classroom sizes, reduced wages for our teachers, and an astounding cut of almost $20,000,000,000 in funding to public schools here in California alone. Our teachers deserve better, our parents deserve better, and most importantly our students deserve better.
Our students are the future of this great nation, the next generation of leaders, our legacy. Don't you think that we should give them the future they deserve? I do, and with the voices and effort of the people here in Beaumont, we can make a difference, we can promote change, and we as a force for a new era will promote reform. I can attest for these issues myself as I have seen them in my own education. Our students are rushed through lessons and often go ignored or are simply forgotten or lost in the reality we call our education system. Is this the teachers' fault? NO, it is simply a flaw in our current system; teacher's lives are often crammed with classes that have 30 or maybe even 40 students at any given time. Class size's impact on teaching has been studied time and time again, and the research is conclusive, large class size (28 students- 48 students) directly impacts the teacher's ability to retain the entire classroom's attention and may cause an added stress to a teacher's already stressful job, as well as reduce test standardized scores. I commend the teachers in California, and here in Beaumont for their superior ability to handle a situation that others deem too hard.
As I have outlined, our school system, and its current leaders have failed us yet again, and now is the time for action, now is a time for change. I feel as though to have a change, we need to have a leader who is ready to accept the challenges and lead the charge for the reform we seek. My promise to you the people, I will work as hard as I can to promote that change for teachers, parents, and students alike. Please join me in these times of difficulty to seek the change we so desperately need. Vote Gunnar Hardy as that leader on November 6th, and remember It's YOUR School!
                                         Your School Board Candidate,
                                                                                   Gunnar Gerald Hardy
