Reduced Fares for Easter Service at Palm Springs Tram's Mountain Station

Fares of $15 for adults and seniors, $12 for children ages 3-12 between 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Sunday April 8.

A sunrise service is planned Easter Sunday at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway mountain station, and reduced fares will be offered that morning.

The first tram car up is scheduled at 5 a.m. and fares of $15 for adults and seniors, $12 for children ages 3-12, will be available through 7:30 a.m.

Easter Sunday is April 8. The is at 8,516 feet elevation in the San Jacinto Mountains, and the valley station is at the bottom of Chino Canyon in Palm Springs at 2,643 feet.

Pastor Robert Sneed will deliver a sermon, "The Greatest Thing in the World," and the Voices of Song gospel group will sing a melody of hymns. Sneed and the Voices of Song are from Rebirth Temple of Faith in Palm Springs.

"Immediately following the program breakfast will be served in Pines Café, featuring a choice of scrambled eggs, French Toast and breakfast meats," a tram spokeswoman said in a release. "Breakfast includes Potatoes O’Brien, fresh fruit, a choice of assorted breads and a small fountain beverage or coffee/tea."

Ride 'n' Breakfast fares of $23.95 for adults and $16.95 for children ages 3-12 will be available until 7:30 a.m. Breakfast will also be served à la carte until 10 a.m.

Easter dinner will be offered from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Pines Café, Lena Zimmerschied of the tramway said. Dinner-tram combination fares will be $36 for adults and $23.50 for children ages 3-12.

Discounted twilight fares will be available from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., $20.95 for adults and seniors and $13.95 for children ages 3-12.

The last car up Easter Sunday is planned at 8 p.m. and the last car down at 9:45 p.m., Zimmerschied said.

Regular tram admission is $23.95 for adults and $16.95 for children ages 3-12 years. The tram attraction is off Highway 111 on the east end of the San Gorgonio Pass.
