A Calimesa woman is facing Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer and her friends and neighbors are trying to raise money for her medical bills on GoFundMe.com.
Sarah Amento is a young mother in her 30s, Ashley Dishner said when she started the GoFundMe effort on Dec. 6.
Amento and her husband have five children and she is determined to live, Dishner said.
"However her husband Andrew has been unemployed due to this horrible economy and now with Sarah being so sick it is hard for him to juggle the 5 children and find work," Dishner said.
"I am setting up this page to help stand in the gap for them during this time in their lives," Dishner said.
As of 2:30 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 10, the GoFundMe effort for Amento had raised $3,605. Dishner's stated goal is to raise $20,000.
Public efforts to help the Amento family began earlier this year and a Fighting Cancer with Sarah Amento page was set up on Facebook in July.
A campaign to help Amento earlier this year raised $5,770 on GiveForward.com. That campaign ended Sept. 1.
