REMINDER: Beaumont Police, Firefighters to Serve Up Dinners for Charity

Local police and firefighters will play "waiter" at an upcoming charity event, hosted at the Beaumont Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 1585 E. 6th St.

Beaumont's "boys in blue" will serve the public in a different way than normal this week, as they take orders and help deliver dinners at a local restaurant.

On Thursday, Feb. 27, police officers and firefighters will volunteer to wait tables at Applebee's, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and take "tips" for a good cause.

"During the evening, officers and firefighters will work with Applebee’s staff to serve customers their food and drink," Beaumont Spokeswoman Ashely Starr said.  "All tips given to the City’s 'Boys in Blue' will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) to help in the fight against neuromuscular diseases."

The Beaumont Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar is located at 1585 E. 6th St., just west of Highland Springs Avenue.
