HEADLINE - Press Enterprise newspaper Thursday. Chief Sergio Diaz sez most people arrested for DUI don't go to jail. Really?? In defense of giving a drunk cop a ride home after getting sited for DUI. Another ex-LAPD - what do you expect. Same blue line.

Cops live in their own world. They despise us, yet we pay for their arrogrant asses to enforce our laws. I have little respect for our law enforcement today and even less when they are under suspicion. It's sad because our LEO's are now no better than any other self-serving profession. On a jury, I would consistanty vote against them because they lie so much and are rewarded for lying. Law enforcement these days is corruption, they are not to be believed. They are liars.

There are a lot of good cops working and living their lives just like the rest of us. They want the best for their kids, they want to have fun, to live and love. They deserve the same courtesy shown anyone else we happen upon daily. Not more, not less. They're our neighbors. Breaking "Us and Them" will do our society good.

I concur. A couple of bad cops and everybody seems to think that all cops are the bad guys. It’s interesting that people place themselves in this dichotomy opposing the police (the good guys). Well said Steve.

Will a 'good' cop rat out his fellows even if there was clearly illegal police activity going on? Cops can be 'just like the rest of us' but if they turn a blind eye to illegal police activity I am not sure they are 'like the rest of us'. How many times have we ignored 'grey' areas at our work in order to not 'rock the boat'. To me it would be too difficult for a cop to rat out his friends. Therefore, unfortunately, they are all suspect.

Sigh reading some of these comments have left me remembering a time when only the intelligent had a computer and could get access to the internet. Those were pre AOL days. Who here ever took the phone off the hook and put it on the modem? Certainly not someone who doesn't know THEIR THERE AND THEY'RE All very different words with different meanings, never interchangeable

Was it really necessary to send in the flare to the cabin to set it on fire, knowing Dorner would be burned alive? I know what Dorner did was horrific; but I also know police adreline was full force and they were angry and I think they were using poor judgement in this extra murder. I have witnessed police brutality. I am law abiding and am grateful for police help, but I think there was some truth to Dorner's claims when he was fired from P.D. I know of an officer who was set up by dept when they put marijuana to set up and officer and discharge him from the Police Dept. I am so sad for the families of the victims. I grieve on behalf of them. I am so sorry. Clearly, Dorner snapped....I'm so sick that any of this happened. Think we need to stop police corruption and I believe there's a great deal of it.
