Top 5 Banning, Beaumont Stories: Murder Details, Marine Killed

As we get ready to head into another busy workweek that's sure to be jam-packed with news, here's a recap of some of the top stories that were published here on Banning-Beaumont Patch during the last seven days.

Details are still emerging in the death of a Beaumont woman, as this week we learned that a second suspect— an alleged accessory to murder— was also charged in the case.  We also learned that the woman killed, Elizabeth Asselin, was stabbed to death, according to a criminal complaint from the district attorney's office.

Another story that people in The Pass were interested in was the passing of comet PANSTARRS.  You still have time to check out that comet, as it will be visible throughout the month, according to NASA.

A sad story to report this week, was the death of a Marine at nearby Twentynine Palms Marine base.  Officials report the Marine died during a training exercise, and we later learned he had been struck by a bulldozer during an integrated training exercise.
