Hi Desert Access Hindered This Morning, Afternoon
Highway 62 leading to the Morongo Valley and Twentynine Palms is partially blocked Tuesday as Caltrans works on the road.
If you’re headed from the Pass to the Hi Desert, plan ahead and give yourself some extra time for the commute.
Highway 62 leading to the Morongo Valley and Twentynine Palms will be partially blocked Wednesday.
One lane in each direction was closed along a stretch of the four-lane highway, from North Indian Canyon Road to the San Bernardino County line, on Tuesday-- and will be again Wednesday, according to CHP Officer Joe Zagorski.

A CHP dispatcher said that traffic was slightly slowed down in the area due to the closure.
Another closure will be in place Wednesday morning from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. as Caltrans completes their work in the area.

The planned closures are for road repairs in the area, according to Caltrans spokeswoman Terri Kasinga.
