A Hemet chiropractor accused of sexually assaulting at least two of his patients pleaded not guilty this week to felony charges.
Dr. Jeffrey Richard Marrs, 46, is charged with five counts of sexual battery and one count of sexual penetration with a foreign object. He entered his plea at his arraignment at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta on Wednesday and is due back in court Feb. 11 for a felony settlement conference. He is free on a $500,000 bond.
Marrs, who has office locations in both Hemet and Temecula, was arrested at his Hemet office on Nov. 20, 2012 "after a nearly month long investigation into reported illegal activities," according to Hemet Police Lieutenant Duane Wisehart.
"The offenses were reported to have occurred at Dr. Marrs' place of business, and there is more than one victim," Wisehart said. "It is believed there may be other victims of Dr. Marrs' criminal activity."
The doctor was taken into custody without incident at his office, Lifestyle Chiropractic & Wellness, 2091 W. Florida Ave.
Jail records indicated that the doctor posted his $500,000 bond a day after his arrest.
