A red-tailed hawk rescued six weeks on State Route 60 in the Badlands west of Beaumont was released Thursday by the same Animal Services officer who rescued the raptor, and by the Project Wildlife volunteers who nursed it back to health.
Officer Caitlin Barron, 28, of Riverside County Animal Services, and Anysia and Ken Dickson, both 40, of Project Wildlife, set the hawk free Thursday afternoon on Jack Rabbit Trail, south of the 60.
