Get Out: Five Ideas For Your Weekend

Pass Has Talent continues this weekend, and the Memory Festival is your free time-travel machine.

We have a lot to celebrate this weekend. Our talented neighbors will continue to shine on stage at Pass Has Talent and our library is feting 100 years of memories.

Our goal is to make the Get Out planner as reliable as possible, but keep in mind, some events change at the last minute. We advise calling ahead just in case.

When/Where: 6 p.m.-8 p.m. this Friday at the

Why Go: The talented contestants continue their advance in this fun local talent competition. This week's group is vocal and instrumental. Each Saturday you can see just how talented your friends and neighbors are and cheer as they compete to win. The finals will be held on September 10 at the Banning Stagecoach Days Main Stage at 4 p.m. First place receives $500.

Why Go: Operation Kidz Komfort will be giving away free school supplies for all school-aged children along with gently used clothing. Donate clothes and supplies or get some help if you need it. You can meet Operation Kidz Komfort volunteer staff and tour the food pantry and clothing closet. Resources are available for any family who needs a helping hand.

Why Go: The Beaumont Library is celebrating 100 years of memories. All are invited to come down and join in the festivities. From 11-12 p.m., mime Mark Wenzel will perform for families. Earlene Fowler, bestselling author, will visit from 2:30-4 p.m.
