Hundreds of people are expected to turn out to this year's annual Veteran Expo in Beaumont, as organizers hope to help spread the word about services available to those who have served our nation.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 26, at Beaumont Civic Center, 550 E. 6th Street, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
At the free event, veterans can learn about a wide array of resources and discounts that are available to them-- and their family members, according to co-organizer Anita Worthen.
Representatives from the Loma Linda Veterans Hospital, Veterans Affairs, Mental Health Support Services, and military counseling services are just some of the people scheduled to attend the expo. Approximately 30 booths will be set up.
Worthen tells Patch that the VA Loma Linda will be bringing people to the location to enroll attendees on the spot into the VA. Those who wish to take advantage of that service are asked to bring their "DD214" form or a military ID, according to Worthen.
Worthen said veterans normally come to the event from all across the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley, stretching from Redlands to the Palm Springs area.
