2.5 Million Square Foot Industrial Complex Proposed in Cherry Valley

If built, the complex would consist of two industrial buildings totaling more that 2.5 million square feet, according to an announcement from the county.

A massive industrial complex may be built in Cherry Valley, to encompass 230 acres just north of Cherry Valley Boulevard and east of Interstate 10, according to a public notice from the county.

Cherry Valley residents recently received a notice for a public scoping session for the project, which was slated for Monday in Riverside.

The project, called the I-10 Gateway Center, is still in the preliminary stages, but documents indicate that it would consist of two industrial buildings totaling 2,560,000 total square feet.  It would have enough space to accommodate more than 420 big rig trucks for loading purposes.

The company behind the I-10 Gateway Center is based in Irvine, according to project documents.  Documents do not state what sort of business might operate from the location if and when it is built.

The scoping session— which is not a public hearing about whether or not to build project; rather, a chance for interested parties to get some questions answered— was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday at 4080 Lemon Street in Riverside.

A public hearing will be held at a later date which has not been announced.

If you couldn't make it to the mid-day meeting, the announcement states that written correspondences can be mailed to the Riverside County Planning Department, attention Paul Rull, at: P.O. Box 1409, Riverside, CA, 92502.  You can also call the project manager at 951-955-0972, or email prull@rctlma.org.
