5p Monday 4/16 is Deadline to Register to Vote in May 1 Measure D Tax Election

The mail ballot election in the San Gorgonio Memorial Health Care District asks voters in Banning, Beaumont, Cabazon, Cherry Valley and Calimesa to extend or reject an existing parcel tax that will expire June 30.

The deadline is 5 p.m. Monday April 16 for voters to register and be eligible to cast a ballot in the May 1 San Gorgonio Memorial Health Care District election, according to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters.

The asks voters in Banning, Beaumont, Cabazon, Cherry Valley and Calimesa to extend or reject an existing parcel tax that will expire June 30.

Voter registration forms are available at the Registrar of Voters office at 2724 Gateway Drive, near the Riverside-Moreno Valley border. The forms are also online at www.voteinfo.net, and at libraries, post offices and city clerks' offices throughout the county, according to the registrar.

"The election involves voters in the San Gorgonio Memorial Health Care District and will be conducted completely by mail, so there will be no polling places," Registrar Kari Verjil said.

The registrar's office is scheduled to be open until 5 p.m. Monday to accept voter registration forms.

"Forms postmarked by the deadline also are honored," Verjil said. "Any U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age by Election Day and not in prison or on parole for a felony is eligible to register to vote."
