Church to Ready Building for Food and Clothing Outreach

The facility, called "The Difference," will be a place where those in need can receive clothing or groceries at no cost.

The New Creation Church will be working to turn a building on its property into a food and clothing outreach center on Saturday.

The facility, called "The Difference," will be a place where those in need can receive clothing or groceries at no cost.

New Creation Church Communications Pastor Juan De La Fuente Jr. says that the grand opening will take place on Sept. 15 and no one will be turned away.

"Sometimes people that even have jobs need a little help," said De La Fuente.

He said The Difference will be open once a month, but the hours are not yet set.

The group will be meeting to work on the space at 9 a.m Saturday morning as one of the church's Exhale projects. Exhale projects normally involve church and community members beautifying the streets of Banning and Beaumont, and just like those other monthly clean-up projects, community participation is welcome.

Both the director for the clothing ministry, Jilana Dunaway, and the director for the food ministry, Wendell Crawford, will be on hand Saturday answering questions and signing people up to volunteer.

The New Creation Church is located at 1252 Beaumont Ave. For more information about The Difference, visit the Facebook page or call 951-922-2471.
